En predios reforestados en comunidades indígenas y áreas protegidas
Morelia, Mich.- Con el objetivo de apoyar acciones que contribuyan a la protección del medio ambiente, conservación del patrimonio natural y preservación de hábitats del estado, en 2024 el Fondo Ambiental destinó 568 mil 908 pesos a distintos proyectos, informó el secretario de Medio Ambiente, Alejandro Méndez López.
El recurso fue invertido en predios reforestados en la comunidad de Arantepacua, municipio de Nahuatzen; el monitoreo de fauna silvestre en El Coire, en Aquila; el fortalecimiento del Área Voluntaria de Conservación (AVC) Bosque Uakusi, la rehabilitación del área de conservación de la guacamaya verde en la localidad de El Chocolate, en Churumuco; acciones de protección en el AVC Emunah, en Cotija; y el control de vegetación acuática en el Área Natural Protegida (ANP) Manantial La Mintzita.
‘’Este mecanismo nos ayuda a fomentar la participación en la conservación de nuestros recursos, que es una tarea grandísima, y a quienes realizan estas acciones les resulta un soporte económico para lograr sus objetivos’’, manifestó Méndez López.
El Fondo Ambiental se alimenta en gran parte de multas por infracciones ambientales y su administración está a cargo de las secretarías del Medio Ambiente y de Finanzas y Administración, así como de la Coordinación de Planeación para el Desarrollo, la Procuraduría de Protección al Ambiente (Proam) y la Comisión Forestal de Michoacán (Cofom).
Los proyectos son presentados durante el año mediante solicitud escrita, de acuerdo a los requisitos contenidos en las Reglas de Operación del Fondo Ambiental, publicados en el Periódico Oficial del Estado. Posteriormente son evaluados y, si cumplen con los requerimientos, puestos a consideración del Comité Técnico del Fondo Ambiental para su posible aprobación.
